I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
